Alongside its increased popularity, the IPL has significant legal challenges, particularly regarding copyright law involving various broadcasting media platforms and content creators.
This blog examines the legal complexities surrounding the copyright disputes of the IPL concentrating on copyright protection broadcasting rights conflicts and the challenges that arise in the digital landscape.
RECOGNIZING COPYRIGHT IN THE IPL MEDIA
The understanding of copyrights in IPL content is fundamentally linked to the protection of creative works, which encompass live match broadcasting, video, player images, logos, and advertisement. Numerous unauthorized platforms are streaming IPL matches without the appropriate license, thereby violating the exclusive rights of the broadcasters.
